Westrefelda Morris

Westrefelda is a mixed Cotswold Morris team which means we dance traditional dances (and other less traditional ones when we feel like it), from the Cotswold area of England. We're based in Westerfield, Suffolk and though we enjoy dancing locally throughout the summer months we are often found at UK folk festivals and other Morris dancing events.

The 1st of May heralds the beginning of our dance season which officially lasts until September, although we often find ourselves fitting in a few more days of dance before the nights close in. After that we begin our indoor practice season which runs from September to April.

We can be hired (from £100 depending on location and requirements), to dance at your fete, wedding or party if our personal diaries allow it so please feel free to contact us if you are thinking of having Morris dancing at a your next event.

If you are thinking, 'wow, I've always wanted to Morris dance' (and yes, some of us did have that on our bucket list), then please get in touch! We are a friendly group and will endeavour to teach you the intricacies of the split caper and galley hook leg.

Additionally, if you are an experienced musician who loves to play the melodeon, concertina, fiddle or pipe & tabor – Westrefelda would love to hear from you!
